MEPMA
Govt has issued G.O Ms No 414 dated 4.6.2007 , establishing a Mission called MEPMA , for formulating strategies to implement poverty reduction programmes in urban areas with Hon'ble Chief Minister as Chairman. Mission Goal: All the 30 lakh poor families will have improved quality of life by accessing services from all organizations through their own strong self reliant and self managed institutions. Objective of the Mission : To enable the urban poor particularly the poorest of the poor to eliminate poverty and vulnerability in a sustainable manner and improve their quality of life in urban areas.
Government have sanctioned 26 posts for strengthening Mission Director Office at state level and 66 posts sanctioned for strengthening the District Project Management units in 22 Districts in the State and 900 posts to engage on outsourcing to look after the IKP-Urban activities in the State.
- 21 lakh households are covered in 1,83,658 Groups against 36.96 Lakh households.
- 1,59,270 SHGs have been linked to Banks and provided Rs.1296.16 crores loan amount and recovery percentage is 95%.
- TFI implemented in 75 towns with an amount of Rs.79.98 crores and recovery percentage is 100%.
